Visitor Kiosks

Self-registration and QR check-in for visitors — runs on Android, iOS and as a PWA, with optional licence-plate integration and kiosk mode.

Updated Jan 23, 2026

Configuration · Devices · 5.1

The visitor kiosk makes the reception process self-directed. Pre-registered visitors check in with a QR code, unregistered visitors register themselves on the tablet. In both cases the host is notified immediately — reception can focus on exceptions instead of manually booking everyone in.

Why this matters to the business

"Reception is constantly at the desk"

QR check-in and self-registration take the load off — reception only steps in for exceptions.

"Barrier opened by radio"

Licence-plate integration → barrier opens automatically + visitor immediately checked in.

"Host doesn't know the guest has arrived"

Host notification on both QR check-in and self-registration.

"Tablets leave the app"

Kiosk mode locks the device to the Gfacility app — no drift possible.

Two usage modes

QR check-in

Pre-registered visitor scans their QR code. They are automatically checked in, host gets a notification. Optionally with licence-plate or access-system integration.

Self-registration

An unregistered visitor enters their details on the tablet themselves. They appear on the visitor list, the host is notified, a pass or QR code is issued.

Compatibility

PlatformRequirements
AndroidVersion 8 or higher. 5MP+ front-facing camera recommended for QR scanning.
iOSiOS 10 or higher. 5MP+ front-facing camera recommended for QR scanning.

Activation flow

MDM and kiosk mode

Gfacility MDM

We manage installation, updates and kiosk mode. Kiosk mode is only configurable by Gfacility via this route.

Own MDM

The customer manages software, updates, kiosk mode and monitoring themselves — whether or not via a third-party MDM.

Which decisions will you make?

Which entrances get a kiosk?

Main entrance for certain, other entrances depending on visitor volume.

Mandatory QR check-in or allow self-registration?

Self-registration takes load off reception, but adds compliance weight — depends on your security requirements.

Licence-plate integration?

For offices with parking — barrier + check-in in one motion.

Who handles MDM?

Gfacility MDM = hassle-free. Own MDM = full control, own responsibility.
